
Shay Ohrel
Shay Ohrel has been actively teaching sailing for 8 years. In that time, he has taught for the University of Oregon, Reed College, and the City of Eugene Outdoor Program.
Shay is an ASA certified Sailing Instructor (Basic Keelboat thru Bareboat Chartering), and he is a United States Coast Guard Licensed Captain.
In the unlikely event of a medical emergency, Shay is a trained wilderness first responder. In addition to teaching, Shay has had the pleasure of cruising in the Caribbean, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans, and participating in offshore sailboat races such as Oregon Offshore and Swiftsure International.
Shay is an MBA graduate of the University of Portland. When not sailing, he can usually be found kite boarding when the water is warm, and snowboarding when the water is frozen.
Karl KuzisWhen not spending time with his family or practicing medicine, Karl can usually be found tinkering with boats.
Karl is a veteran sailor, having logged over 10,000 sea miles on all types of craft ranging from small boats to 130 ft schooners. Karl is a masterful navigator, tactician, and teacher, and he is eager to pass on his knowledge.
